Dry Skin
February 2000

Q. My skin is very dry. What can I do?

A. Xerosis is the medical term for dryness of the skin. It is particularly a problem in the winter months when heaters are blasting and humidity is low. First, try to increase the humidity in your house. Many furnaces have attached humidifiers that you can adjust. If not, at least get a few humidifiers for your family room and bedroom.
